A Spiritual Journey To The Azores

It was the Harmonic Convergence in 1987 when I first met my spiritual teacher.  I had traveled with some of my students and friends from my Health Naturally Centre to Lily Dale, N.Y. to be with others during this special time.  Surprisingly not many there were connecting to these special energies, seeming to be oblivious of the meaningful connection it provided to the universe and earth.  So some of us came together at sunrise and meditated with our crystals and walked the native nature trail they had there.  It was a peaceful and tranquil location with healing and revitalizing energy for Earth Mother and all our relations.

That day I chose to attend a class entitled Musical Harmonics by a lady with whom I shared an unspoken connection.  We thought alike and after answering some of her questions, she asked me if I was a shaman.  She told me about a Cherokee Medicine Elder she had met and invited me to attend a Wind, Fire and Earth celebration in Ohio that night.  My heart wanted to go with her, but I needed to return home to my two small daughters, as well as bring my friends back home to Canada.  A couple of months later it was my good fortune to learn Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha was visiting Toronto and I was invited to attend.  I had an instant recognition that this was the Medicine Woman who had appeared so often in my visions and dreams.  I attended her teachings and travelled with her as often as I could.

Travelling with Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha, our Cherokee Elder, was always purposeful and enriching.  Back home she had mentioned to me that this was a trip I did not want to miss, for it would be especially important.  All of my journeys with her were intensives, well named as we were definitely in the fire.  This trip to the Azores provided a sacred place with energy frequencies conducive to our spiritual learning, transmission from our Elder and our assimilation on a higher level of consciousness by her students.  We were a group of spiritual apprentices from many different countries and equally diverse walks of life, who had answered the call to accompany and assist our spiritual teacher, Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha, on this journey.    Excitement and anticipation awakened our adrenaline as we flew towards unknown adventures.

Upon arrival we learned that the local hotels did not meet our standards, after checking the beds and bedding and discovering bed bugs and a general state of uncleanliness.  When opening oneself to higher planes of learning and enlightenment, it is vital to be in an environment of complete cleanliness.  We gathered and waited to go to a new hotel which, to our relief, exceeded our expectations.  Still we scrubbed, swept, vacuumed and cleaned thoroughly until we achieved the satisfactory balance necessary for our intensive training.

Gazing from our balconies, we overlooked a beautiful Green Lake and equally breathtaking Blue Lake. I found them to be places conducive to deep meditation and healing.  At the end of our trip we brought back a sample of these waters, a sacred blessing and memory to cherish.

Later in town I conversed with another tourist who asked where we were staying.  I surmised by this that she was also unhappy about conditions of cleanliness at her hotel.  Oddly enough, she had never heard of or seen our hotel.  In fact, I wondered why we were the only ones staying there, other than the employees. I mentioned to her that she should come to our hotel.  She looked puzzled as if she had not only never heard of or seen it, but also had not heard of the Green Lake and the Blue Lake.   Our hotel was a very beautiful multi-level hotel with balconies and railings overlooking the main lobby.  Little did I know!  Many decades later I learned from our Elder that our hotel was not really there, but existed in another “place” just for us, through the veil of spirit.  I am grasping at words to describe the transcendental experiences that took place.  Truly it was as if time and space stood still.  Maybe it did!

You see, we were on an important mission.  Beloved Ela, Earth Mother, was calling out to us and we came to answer her call for help.  Truly it is our purpose in life, to be here now, to assist.  Our Elder, Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha, needed to bring something to the very core of Earth Mother, giving permission for her to begin her much needed healing.  And we were eagerly anxious to do all we could to bring this to fruition.

We gathered at the Hot Springs.  Our Elder stood at the core of the springs.  I was up above circling the perimeter of the springs, and was enraptured and mesmerized.  My heart started to sing to the Green Lady known to be in the Inner Earth.  I felt her tenderly caress me. It was as if she was holding me with loving reverence.  I gazed upon her beauty and the deep oceans of her eyes.   My reverie was abruptly interrupted, too soon.  It was time. We all gathered around our Elder to receive our instructions.  Upon ascending from the springs to my assigned position, a small Chinese man suddenly appeared out of nowhere right in front of me, taking my breath away.  He had a camera slung over his shoulder.  He looked at me and said, “Hello.” It was as if he needed a focal point, namely me, to see him as he was heading towards the Hot Springs and Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha.  I turned to look at her, but she waved me on and upwards to take my position, reassuring me all was okay.

Then we formed a circle around her and the springs, keeping our backs to our Elder in order to keep watch so no one else would enter.  As I did so, I wondered what would happen if more people arrived.  How could we possibly stop them all from descending to the springs.  What would we do if a bus load of people stopped to visit the Hot Springs?  Immediately a school bus appeared in front of me and my heart stopped.  (Self-fulfilling prophecy?)   Fortunately, just two laughing children exited the bus, carrying school books as they walked by.  I thought to myself that they looked like little angels.  Instantly they turned to me and smiled, as if they had heard me thinking, then skipped away. I knew they WERE angels and that they had heard me.  Later I realized this was my basket I was weaving to keep my mind occupied while my spirit joined Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha at the Hot Springs as she went into the Inner Earth.  We all wondered why her clothes were not wet when she reappeared.  Another illusion!   (It was thirty-five years later that we learned she had actually gone into the orb or ark.  But that is another story!)

We were all invited to step into the Hot Springs, as we got our “Red Moccasins.” We are the Principal People, coming here at this time to assist.  Our Elder pointed out that no one had asked what happened to the Chinese man, although I was very worried about it.  He walked by us later as we gathered on the sidewalk.  We were instructed to keep quiet and not to gaze at him as he passed us.  He stopped further along the street and I noticed that he was sweeping the sidewalk.  He was a great Master who came to be with us and lend his energies to assist in this important venture.

As we gathered back at the hotel, the mist was covering the Green Lake and we were instructed to look out over our balconies.  To our amazement, we beheld the Lady of the Lake extending her arm upwards out of the water.  In her hand she held Excalibur, the great sword of King Arthur.

We traveled to five islands in the Azores.  At one of the fire islands, we stopped upon one mountain to craft our fire shields.  Then we danced around a fire.  We were careful where we walked, especially taking care to avoid a huge deep hole, another entrance to the Inner Earth.  Descending the mountain, we were aware Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha did not have her feet on the ground…. She was levitating down the mountainside!

We went on a boat and saw rock masses appear and disappear.  This was the location of Atlantis.  There was a volcano on one island and it was vital that Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha had to deliver something there of great importance on her own.  She called each of us during the night as we lay sleeping, to see who would answer the telephone in a semi awake state, which would be a more receptive condition to receive her transmission.  It happened to be me and I replied in gibberish, still half asleep.  I heard her giggle and proceed to give me instructions, as I fell back to sleep.  The next morning as we gathered at the restaurant, waiting for an extended period of time for our Elder, it suddenly struck me that she was missing.  Immediately I went into automatic pilot thinking, “I have to find one of our men who speaks Portuguese to get help to find her.”   He suddenly appeared and looked straight into my eyes, nose-to-nose, and reassured me that Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha is okay and back safely.  Within minutes our Elder appeared and we all sat down to eat.  She shared how she had ‘prepared’ me hypnotically, through the power of suggestion, as a backup plan for safety in case anything happened to her.

During our travels throughout the Azores, we gathered regularly to view a magnificent canyon, more like a huge crater in the earth.  Each time I perceived a Spirit Angel or angelic being guarding this sacred place.  As I sensed her presence, I sang and spoke to her each time.  At our last visit I told her,” I know you are there.  I want to see you.”  I felt this with all my heart and so much love in our communication.  Suddenly she appeared in a wispy cloudlike state, a luminescent large presence hovering directly above the crater.  I was standing beside our Elder and managed to exclaim only one word,  “Look!”  Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha replied “Quick, turn off the car.”  (as the engine would detract from the spirit energies needed.)  I tried to move to turn the car off, but my body stood still, in absolute awe.  My Elder gently pushed me forward and I ran and successfully turned off the car engine.  As I returned to the group, everyone was kneeling in reverence and awe.  I joined them and prostrated myself and also knelt in humble respect and appreciation.

We spent our last night in the small island of Pico, visiting a relative of one of our people.  They served us a delicious dinner of roast pork with potatoes, vegetables and dessert.  During dinner our host proudly relayed a story of how he killed the pig himself and roasted it on the spit, also showing us very graphic pictures of the same throughout the meal.

We arranged to sleep in many rooms on beds or sofas or on the floor or chairs.  To our dismay, we spent most of the night dodging the fleas.  Their dog was covered in them.  Needless to say, the next morning we thoroughly shook out our bedding and clothes and ourselves.  However, our night was also spent exorcising the negative forces that were coming through the mirrors and pictures.  It was a portal for the dark forces.  This certainly reinforced our knowledge that we are sent where ever there is a need.

It was a memorable trip indeed. I give great appreciation to Grandmother Pa’Ris’Ha for all that she does and for the honor of being her student and traveling and learning with her.
